1. okay, to begin with... MERRY VERY LATE CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! :D

I've read most of your Christmas recount/haul lists already, but if I haven't feel free to comment and let me know how it all went :D

For me, Christmas day was great! From midnight until 3:00 I listened to Circus (by Britney if you aren't aware of it) on repeat :P Then at 11:00 I woke up and had Christmas with my mum. From 12:00-2:00 we had lunch with my grandparents on my mums side. Then we went to dads house until 3:00 and did the presents thing. Then we went to my step-mum's parents to help set up for dinner, which in my case involved playing Peggle and quoting Flight of the Conchords with my brother. Dinner was awesome (the best quiche of my entire life!), I hung out with my relatives I like and somehow managed to avoid the ones I don't. Then when that was all finished (11:00ish) we went home and I watched the SNL Christmas special from season 31 (which always evokes awesome Christmassy feelings) before 'Circus'ing again :D So yeah, overall a surprisingly untainted and completely awesome Christmas

and now for the haul:
[NOTE: I got a LOT of vouchers, so I'm just listing the things I bought with them/am planning to buy with them]

-a chicken donated on my behalf to someone in the Soloman Islands
-new jeans
-two new shirts (one of which can be seen here along with the new jeans)
-two new 8Gb USBs (one in the shape of a Christmas tree)
-shoulder bag
-Neverwinter Nights 2
-the two most recent comics for both the Buffy season 8 and Angel season 6 seasons
-doughnut maker (to share with my brother)
-digital camera
-tickets to see Adam Hills live (For the record, I'd rather Cal Wilson, but whatever. A comedian's a comedian :P)
-also little things like bus tickets a chocolates, but there were lots of them and not worth mentioning individually

2. I saw Twilight this afternoon and was actually really impressed! To my dismay I wasn't dazzled by Eddy AT ALL, however I was by Bella so eye candy was still there to be had :)

3. I finally watched Merlin. The pilot blew my socks off like you would not believe! It was so dramatic and there were so many exciting, hilarious and memorable moments! Unfortunately I wish I could say that about the three episodes that followed... however, I consider myself to be a fan and when I'm not listening to circus, I guarantee to you I'm listening to the Witch's Aria from the OST <3

4. We went and saw The Day The Earth Stood Still on Boxing day. It was terrible, don't go see it. It was just a whole bunch of cliches we've all seen before. A few of the concepts were slightly interesting ("nobody truly dies, we're all just recycled into the trees and the earth" and "humans are on the brink of destroying the earth, but it's on the brink of destruction that we learn and evolve") but I've just given you the gist of them so there's no need to waste your money now. :P
Oh, and Keanu Reeves reminds me a lot of my uncle :/

5. I was somehow tricked into watching Kung Fu Panda and LOVED IT LIKE YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE!! It is soo shiny! The graphics are like nothing I've seen before. I mean, the lighting and the colouring of the scenes alone... let me just tell you it's definitely worth checking out and here are some caps to show off the awesomeness 1 2 3 4 5! And they aren't even the best of the best, they're just five random caps! And it's EVEN BETTER when you see it in motion!

6. I watched the Doctor Who Christmas special and didn't like it... at all. Well that's a lie, Mercy was fantastic, but she has a total of 0% chance of being the next companion, so... :(

Merlin really hits its stride at about the seventh episode, "Gates of Avalon". AND THINGS GET LIKE 39204024 MORE AWESOME AND DRAMATIC, SERIOUSLY.

Yay you watched Merlin! There are SO many good episodes left. It really improves later on. WATCH IT lol.

I kind of enjoyed the Christmas special. With Doctor Who you can't enjoy it unless you like its crackfilled campyness.

maybe it's just me being a cranky old man, but I like it when stories actually make sense :P The whole way through I was just thinking "what's going on? WHY ARE THERE CYBERMANMONKEYS?"

However, I don't think I emphasised in the main post how much exactly I fell in love with Mercy, so having her die (TWICE!) at the end wasn't the best thing ever :/

And also I've found that usually the episodes I end up loving, I hate at first. So me not liking this episode at all right now could very well end up being a positive thing :P

1. I'm glad you had a good Christmas :) All your pressies sound awesome!

2. Yay Twilight :) I was going to go and see it again tomorrow but now I have to work. Bleh.

4. Ooh. I can't believe you actually saw that :P Even the adds screamed 'waste of money'.

4. I haven't seen any of the ads, but I'm not surprised. I don't think I could've been able to find 20 decent seconds to entice people in with, either. :P

Well my family wanted to see it and the plan was to have dinner out afterwards so I was kind of forced into it :/

Oh, I've been hearing a lot about Taylor Swift (on peoples 2008 lists of awesomeness mostly) and I was wondering if you could direct me towards her best few songs, because I know you like her and I just want to check 'em out :)

Oh. That's so mean. Forcing you to watch boring movies or go hungry.

Um. Well pretty much every song is my favorite :P

I guess the ones I really like right now though are Fearless, The Best Day, White Horse, Tim McGraw and Should of Said No.

You know what's funny about Merlin... I loved the first episode, but the second one was even better and I just loved the entire show... I saw almost all of it in one sitting lol :)
