Yeah I don't really like this. We spent hours in makeup only to have it STILL not look like the example picture I gave which left us with 5 minutes to shoot so the pose and expressions are infinitely boring - she wasn't a model so she was really intimidated by the camera. That said, her bone structure is EXCELLENT, I just love the shape of her cheekbones and jaw and nose. It's not overbearing, just very clean and refined. I do actually like the colours, the yellows and the reds - again just very subtle.

If I were to shoot this again, I probably would have worked it that I spent less time in makeup to achieve a slightly less refined look so I had more time to shoot and get a story going. I'm learning that my retouching can achieve a better result than a student makeup artist - professionals are another story but I shouldn't have to spend THAT long in makeup. Also I think with headshots like these, where I don't have access to nice clothes I should just shoot them in a deceptive way that makes them look nude because the cheap clothes bring everything else down

And to only have ONE usable shot... yeah, as a whole I consider this shot a massive failure and if I wasn't so persistent about sharing everything, I wouldn't have shared it at all.

wow, I'm surprised that you picked out her splotchy chest as being a redeeming feature! I've actually evened out the skintones A LOT and my lecturers still thought it should be done some more

haha I try not to XD they kept on telling me that all skintones had to be warm and natural and I was like "NOOOOOO BUT THAT DOESN'T EXPRESS MY EMOTIONS AND THINGS"
