1. I started watching Stargate Atlantis on Wednesday and I'm up to episode 6. I started watching it because harbourlight somehow convinced me to. Episode 1/2 was fantastic, but I haven't been nearly as impressed with the others. I have, however, been inspired to make icons by it (see: 5)

2. I finally finished off life on Mars. The finale was amazing! I can't wait for season 3! I told my family about how they say "those damn bastards!" a lot in their hilarious English accent and so now we've started saying it randomly just as a fun inside joke that, honestly, I think I'm the only one who really understands :P

3. I had an awesome day at work yesterday, possibly my best yet. All of my customers were really friendly and I got really ahead of my daily schedule that I ended up doing quite a bit of the work that the person whose shift was after mine would have to do. It was also my first shift with Christine, who it turns out is awesome!

Unfortnately the day before yesterday was probably the worst I've had yet. I was working with the guy who I was supposed to be replacing when I came along three months ago (he's looking for work and is sticking around for a little bit until he can find it) and he was bugging me about liking TV and was asking me a million questions about my life and stuff and then telling me what I thought about things were wrong and... ugh, it was infuriating. Also it was probably the least I've done of my daily routine in the last couple of months.

4. walls!

a) I don't really like my colouring in this, but I love Adriana Lima <3

b) I really wish I hadn't added the noise. It looks fine on this computer, but it looks horrible on the other one

5. icons!

a) Photobucket I really like this one, I think the colouring is brilliant and you can't tell it, but I've used a few textures, which is the direction I've been meaning to go for a while now :D

b) Photobucket I don't love the colouring quite as much. In the original colouring they were yellow, and I thought that was fun and cool so I wanted to punch it up, but I think I punched it too much

c) Photobucket I liked this cap, but it was impossible to icon!

d) Photobucket another fun scene that I don't think works particularly well in icon form. I like it, though.

e) Photobucket I like what I've done with this. The light over to the right looks really cool, I think. But the original picture was just so darn grainy! :(

f) Photobucket I like this, because I haven't been able to make the bars up the top and the bottom of the icon work before. The same applies for text. They're my arch nemeses of iconing and I finally thwarted them. :D

g) Photobucket I like this. I made it specifically for harbourlight because she's a big Sheppard fan and I thought he looked hot in this cap.

h) Photobucket I didn't like this when I was making it, but I like it now. I love it when that happens :D

i) Photobucket I made this a long time ago for harbourlight so that she could enter it into an SGA icontest under her name because she couldn't come up with anything that week :P I'm now pleased that I've made it because Doctor Weir is my favourite character so far and she doesn't have that many good caps. She tends to distort her face a lot when she talks. It's adorable, but it's annoying.

j) Photobucket I didn't like my old Futurama icon so I made this. I don't love it, it needs more light splodges :D

6. Is sxc.hu loading for you guys, because it's not for me :( I'm desperate to get some scenery stocks for an awesome wall I've got in the making (better than the two in 4, I promise!) So feel incredibly free to share your awesome scenery stocks with me if you want to <3

7. I'm about to watch The Tudors, which will continue (and finish) my recent English TV obsession. I just found out that it has the girl from Burn Notice in it, which is awesome! Everything seems to be pushing me towards watching Tudors at the moment.

o1. I definitely agree. It starts with a bang and then slows down for a little while but then it picks up again about half way through!

o2. Its that good huh? I guess I will add it to my list of shows I need to watch.

o3. That's great that work is going well. I need a job so badly. Everyone keeps paying me out about it!

o4. The noise looks good on my laptop. I love the image too!

o5. Ahhh! I saw that Shep icon and saved it before I read the comment :P Thank-you! Its so pretty.

Oh :O How dare you accuse me of conspiring to cheat in a LIMs contest! I would never do such a thing!

o6. Loads fine for me now... Is it still not working?

o7. That's got Johnathon Rhys Meyers in it! I was planning on watching it just for him but I never got around to it. Let me know if its any good ok?

1. phew, I'm glad you agree that it slowed down and it's not just me :)

2. I wouldn't say it's that good. It's definitely good, but I'm not waiting on the edge of my seat for the new season to roll around. The finale was exceptionally good though, and I can't wait to see how it has effected the course of the series :D

6. grrr, no it's not! I wish I knew why it was doing this to me! Say, can you help me out and find me some shiny settings? I'm looking for a setting with very elegant steps, like in/leading up to a castle or something like that. Also an old-fashioned railway station with the old steam trains, preferably a picture that we can see the sky.

7. will do! :D

I was in the same boat as you when I started watching -- the pilot was nice and actiony and interesting and I liked everyone and then... bored now. Bored, bored, omgsobored. I stopped watching. Then I happened to catch a marathon on SciFi on a reeeaalllyy boring afternoon, which was airing the first part of a two-parter that made up the episodes before and after the winter hiatus (wow that was convulted, basically eps 109 and 110), and I was hooked. The episodes were so awesome, even better than the pilot. I eventually went back and watched 104-108 and I'm glad I did, if only for continuity sake, but I'm glad I caught The Storm/The Eye because that's when things really start to pick up and hit hard.

So, fear not, it does get better and develop nicely. There's some good Weir development in 108, 109/110, 112, and 114 especially.

Oh! And I snagged the first icon, of Dean, up there because it's pretty.

Also, re: conversation up post about Life On Mars, I thought it was designed to be only two series, it's finished, and now the production team is doing Ashes To Ashes, a related but different show (it's set in the eighties and has a female protagonist).

Phew, I am so glad you said that, I was starting to lose hope :P
And yay for Weir development!

thankyou <3

Oh, I hadn't heard that. It ended on a good note then :D
